“Crossing” at Stadtgalerie Saarbrücken is the first major solo exhibition dedicated to the work of German artist Helga Griffiths (*1959 in Ehingen / Donau). Her multimedia and multisensory space installations (comprising sound, video, and scent) explore the boundaries between art, science and technology. Audience interaction is as important as the site-specific character of these works. Her work has featured in exhibitions at museums around the world, such as the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn, Palais de Tokyo in Paris, Oscar Niemeyer Museum in Curitiba, Brazil, and the ZKM – Centre for Art and Media in Karlsruhe. Only 5 % of the universe is visible to astronomer’s instruments − the rest is dark matter and dark energy. The concept for this project was inspired by the invisible planet number 9 which has never been seen directly, but was detected through its gravitational influence on the orbits of its neighbouring planets. Düfte können unmittelbar Erinnerungen und Emotionen auslösen, sind aber im Gegensatz zu Bildern ephemer und unsichtbar. Oft werden sie unterschwellig wahrgenommen, was ihnen eine besondere Wirkungskraft verleiht. Von Ritualen der Azteken bis zu modernen Duftlaboratorien erkundet Annick Le Guérer die Geschichte des Geruchsinnes in Kunst, Medizin, Psychoanalyse, Philosophie und Religion. Dabei wird sie auch über die olfaktorischen Installationen von Helga Griffiths sprechen, von der in «Planet 9» gegenwärtig die multisensorische Arbeit «Dark Gravity» zu sehen, hören und riechen ist. «Planet 9» ist ein Cluster von Ausstellungen, Performances Interventionen, Screenings, Lesungen, Gesprächen und mehr, sieht immer wieder anders aus, ähnlich wie ein Planetensystem, das gerade im Entstehen begriffen ist.
2017 marque la première année de la participation de Annick Le Guérer en tant que juge dans Les prix Art et olfaction. Elle servira en tant que juge de présélection, dans la catégorie indépendante.
2017 marks the first year of Annick Le Guérer’s participation as a judge in The Art and Olfaction Awards. She will serve as a shortlisting judge, in the independent category.

L’Institut d’art et de l’olfaction (IAO) est un organisme sans but lucratif voué à l’accès, l’éducation et l’expérimentation du parfum.
L’IAO a été fondée en Octobre 2012 par Saskia Wilson-Brown, avec l’aide d’une équipe d’experts et directeur créatif Micah Hahn. En Décembre 2012, Koan Jeff Baysa, a rejoint l’IAO comme Chief Strategy Officer de l’organisation. L’IAO a ouvert son siège à Los Angeles en Mars 2013. En Septembre 2013, Ashley Eden Kessler a rejoint l’équipe en tant que première parfumeuse en résidence de l’organisation.
En Janvier 2014, l’IAO a lancé son projet public des arts première à grande échelle avec ‘Un voyage au Japon en seize minutes, Revisited’ au Hammer Museum. Cependant, l’organisation a été active dans l’année précédant l’événement, le lancement de ses programmes éducatifs, des sessions ouvertes, et un certain nombre de programmes sur les arts, des conférences, et des partenariats.
En Avril 2014, l’IAO a lancé le premier prix « art and olfaction Awards », un concours de remise des prix annuels conçu pour aider à célébrer l’excellence en parfumerie des indépendants et artisans
L’IAO a déménagé à Koreatown en Mars 2014, et à son nouveau domicile dans le quartier chinois en Mars 2015.
